HUMAN BEINGS BEFORE ADAM AND EVE .P2

SERPENT’S SLITHER—BEYOND SCALES

Genesis 3:1 grins: “The serpent was more cunning than any beast of the earth the Lord God made.” Clue one: serpent’s Lucifer, not a pet snake—cunning’s a mind, not fangs. A chatterbox reptile? Ditch the zoo log—this is allegory city.  Clue two: “More cunning (arum) than any beast of the earth” skips cattle and creepers. Why slice it that way? Most texts don’t say “all creatures”—just beasts. Serpent’s not in their club—hints a different breed, a pre-Adamic species. Could fit “creeping things,” but this ain’t a biology quiz.  Clue three: Singulars rule—“cattle,” “creeping thing,” “beast,” “man.” Not a headcount—each a tribe, a wave of mankind. Serpent’s shadow looms older than Eden’s dust—a cunning echo from the void.

Glossary:

  • Arum (עָרוּם): Hebrew “cunning”—sharp mind, not scales.
